 With the Juxtapositions of Jazz, Gospel and Blues, there’s a birth of Rhythm and blues (R & B). In this Week 2 Session 3, Contestants are going to be adding some Soul & Funk to the BlogVille world. So let’s lay back & listen as they battle it out in this round! Who is going to bring down the house with their voice??? Dear All,
Thank you for giving me this opportunity to be a blogville idol contestant. Unfortunately, things are not going well for me at this end. I am managed to record about 3 full length songs but have been cut off. Now I am tired and the money is all gone.
I understand that I will have no special treatment and that like Chicala I will be eliminated, so please allow me to eliminate myself first. Obviously this relationship was not meant to be?
I know you will ask me to try once more, so I will, in a couple of minutes, even though I have no SIM and no money. If you do not receive anything by tonight, plase consider this my resignation - albeit a reluctant one.

It is now clear that Snapv!ne with all its bugs is not ready for the web. My advice to the contestants is that they keep their songs brief and to get the best part of them done early in the recording, because chances are that Snapv!ne will drop the connection well before listeners reach the end of them.
Bobby Taylor - I don't know this song, but I really like it, or should I say, I like what you did with it. I would say this song is more blues than R and B, reminiscent of Delta Blues style or the type of song that might have been sung by plantation slaves as they worked the fields. Lots of feeling, subtlety and range.
Sparkle - In every round your voice sounds like it has been put through a synthesizer or electronic filter. This type of sound might normally irritate me, but that I actually find it pleasing here is a testament to the quality of your voice.
Lurlar - The quality of the recording is poor making your voice sound distorted and almost impossible to assess. If possible, try to record your next song either with a different microphone or using a different computer.
Tminx - I am still waiting for you to find a song that suits your unique voice. I think you should choose a song that is a bit more melodic, that will allow you to sing smoothly, even continuously, without too many abrupt interruptions, so as to bring more attention to the quality of your voice.
Last King of Scotland - I am a big fan of Stevie Wonder and as you found out his songs are not easy to sing because they demand a vocal range that few naturally have, especially baritones. This was not a great performance by any means, but you get high marks for effort. Perhaps you could try doing a Barry White song next time. It would suit your low voice and at the very least, the women will love you even more.
Diary of A G - I didn't know there was such a thing as R and B rap, but you just showed that there is, I guess. It is difficult to grade your musical talent, except to say that you have excellent timing and good mixing skills . . . I hope to hear you sing next time.
Mimi - This sounded off key, but that may have been due to the what appears to be a recording problem. Maybe a different microphone or computer would solve this.
dScribe/2ndCorin5:17 - Three strong performances, and I would say the strongest one of this round. Your voice is a gift. From the moment you speak I know you will sing beautifully in that soft, relaxed, effortless manner that you do. This was not an easy song to do as it is in a minor key but you sung it as if it were written for you.
Idemmili - I am glad you persevered, I would have been disappointed had you dropped out. We already lost two A-listers in Chicala and Abujababe and it would have been a pity to have lost a third. You were way off key at the very beginning but you then found your ear and sung perfectly to the end. There was perhaps a bit more passion in your voice this round and you also demonstrated a more pronounced, but tight, vibrato, that I did not notice before.
Chicala - Even though you are out, I thought I would commend you on how gracefully you handled your unfortunate elimination. You have loads of class and poise.

Bobby - You are still one of my favourites. Really Good voice!
Sparkle - Hmmm... Love the song but I didn't really feel your performance this week...
Lurlar - Didn't love it. I think your voice was too high (pitch). Some bits sounded like you were talking.
Tminx - A bit shaky at the begininning. You sounded tired... But you started to get into it at the end, heard you snapping your fingers. I wish you chose a different song. Overall - good performance but you were better last week.
Everyone Loves a Naijai Girl - I heard your song before it was taken off the voice comments. This new one is better. you started really well but didn't keep it till the end.
TLK - Couldn't figure out what the song was. You were better in the previous round.
D.O.G - Ok, you rapped. Good but there was too much of the real music playing withthe vocals.
Not as enjoyable as last week.
Mimi - You sounded like you were whispering?
You were better than a couple of people this round but it's not your best performance so far.
DScribe - You have made it to my top three!

Everyone Loves a Naija Girl - My apologies for having excluded you from my comments earlier. I could not find your recording and thought you had disqualified yourself. Your performance had among the best and worst moments of this round. When you were singing quietly, from the back of your throat, stretching the notes, you were on par with any of the top contestants in this round. But, when you turned up the volume and chased some of the higher notes in this song, you missed by at least a do, re and a mi, but still, I appreciate your boldness by putting your vocal chords on the chopping block like that, something the other contestants have yet to do.

Thank you for voting for me. I am so sorry I let you down by the timbre of my voice. However, may I just say in my defence, that I had been recording for a long time, full length songs that just seemed to disappear into thin air. I am under a lot of stress with this archaic computer and my SIM has still not arrived, so the one I'm using...well...
The soreness in my throat also caused me to do the unthinkable. I cleared my throat before singing, which I have never done. Usually I just phone in, sing and hang up.
I am sorry that I almost quit because of all the stress. Sometimes you get up caught up in your problems that you cease to remember that other people are rooting for you. My apologies once again.
Please keep on voting for me and I hope that I will make coming to this page and voting for me worth your while.
To Abuja Babe fan who will manage me: I hope that there will come a point in this relationship/competition when your 'management' will turn to genuine admiration. Thank you for your support.

IDEMILI: although you started a bit pitchy but you have been consistently good since round one….dawg you rawk!!! Ide!!! U rawk!
DSCRIBE: chai! I hated the intro, it kinda took yr focus off the song, but, u have a good voice and I can’t contest that. I think slow songs fit ur voice better, as this sounded a bit breathless…. Well done though!
MIMI: I really did not like this song this time around, maybe because it was low, but I think it lacked emotion. Like DSCribe, u have a very good voice, so, next round, do try to sing louder/ not whisper and more importantly, if ur singing a song with words so powerful, put more emotion.. like.. u mean it.. . all in all, WELLDONE!!
DAIRY of A G: dude that was entertaining… why did you not sing the chorus ur self?? You can rap and really entertain, but I don’t see you doing that all through the competition or people may get bored!! Well done though!! U definitely livened things up!? U RAWK!
